Pain

I am having horrible pain in my chest area. Worst indigestion ever. Hurts to take a deep breathe. I am 4 days post op. I can only take small sips of water and don't want to even drink that because of the amount of discomfort I am in. I can keep it down. I am burping a little which hurts and passing gas but it brings no relief

According to my discharge instructions, one of the times to call your surgeon's office after surgery is when you have chest pains. So I recommend that you consult with them.

I had a bypass 2-6 and my post op plan include Pepcid 2xday. I had taken once before and did not get indigestion relief with it like the OTC Prevacid but I wanted to follow Dr recommendations. Wasn't long I started having abdominal pain and frequent nausea. I went back to the OTC omeprazole and no issues since. My surgeon agree to continue the OTC and stop the Pepcid. So if ur symptoms continue try changing but speak to Dr. First.
