No pre-op diet

So.....I'm scheduled for May 2nd, and my dr doesn't require a pre-op diet. Which is awesome! But also not awesome. I trust my dr, as he is very well respected and has been doing these surgeries for a very long time (and I know several people who have used him). But, I still feel a bit anxious that I have no required diet. So, I thought I'd do it on my own. Can't hurt and I'm hoping it'll help me get into the right mindset. Can anyone share the kind of pre-op diet they're following? Thanks!!

Mine is two weeks of Protein shakes and a small dinner of protein, veggies and a bit of carbs.
I was told losing about ten pounds would be good to shrink my liver but they will do it even if I don't lose that much. I was told today I'm getting surgery on April 17th which is less than two weeks. I start fasting tomorrow!

They just move my surgery to the 17th today!! I guess I'll only get 1 week in....but it's got to be better than nothing. Good luck to you!!

Good luck to you too! I've been getting the run around and not knowing when I was having surgery and they called today and I was surprised to get in early but I'll take it. My parents are helping with the kids as my husband is working. They will be gone on a cruise so I think getting it done before so I had support was important. I have a great doctor and nurses:)

Have you seen your Nutritionist yet? My Dr is not requiring a diet either however my Nutritionist told me I should start my diet a week before the surgery. And gave me a whole packet with the plan and everything thing in it for pre and post op

My surgeon only requires a liquid diet 24 hours before surgery day so that the stomach is clear is solid food. I'm going to do 48 hours to be sure I'm good and clear!
