I am 5 days post op. Currently on shakes, sugar free Jello, broth, and Water. When would I be able to start to eat food? Can someone let me know cuz I'm hearing different stories

What did your surgeon or nut tell you?

Im still preop, scheduled for 3/31, but I have my diet for the first 2 months already. From 2 days postop i can have yogurt, puddings, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese up until my 2 week appt. I also can have my Protein shakes, broth, crystal light, sugar free popsicles, etc..

Call his office and ask. My surgeon was very specific about what could be eaten at different time periods. It also depends on what you consider real food. I'm 7 weeks out and I am still on a partially restricted diet until 6 months.

My diet didn't change until after my 2 week check up. I'm guessing your dr will let you know at your 2 week appt.

I am Day 4 post-op sleeve..I can have..
Skim or 1% milk...1/2 cup
Cream soups strained
Greek yogurt 1/4 cup
Protein shakes
Sugar free hot cocoa
Sugar free fudgesicles
Plus all the liquid guidelines you did for pre-op!
