Road trip after surgery

Hi. I am having my sleeve done in June, I was curious how long after surgery isnit safe to go on a long road trip. My family is planning a tentative trip to Maine (from Pa) I am concerned about blood clots. We usually go in mid July or early Aug. Also, how long do.you have to wait to go swimming?

Thank you!

My surgery is scheduled for April 3rd, and I will be driving from Erie, PA to New Hampshire on May 12th for my grad school graduation. This is a trip I make quite often since I am from NH. I like avoiding 90 and staying on the toll-free route because there are more places to get out and stretch your legs. My cardiologist wants me to wear compression stockings because my legs and feet swell up like crazy when we drive to Florida.

Maine is beautiful. I spent most of my free time in the summer at Wells Beach and Wells harbor. The wild roses along the shore smell like a dream :)

I'll let you know how my trip goes!
