Pain Medicine Malabsorbtion

Looking for information regarding pain management. I had gastric bypass 12 years ago and have managed to maintain my loss of 130 pounds. I suffered ankle injury 4 years ago and despite 3 surgeries to correct, I still have debilitating pain. My current Pain Management doctor does not acknowledge that malabsorption is an issue and is approaching my care as though I am not opioid addict. I am desperate for any research that is available on this topic. Newer medications must be in the works for our specific population..... The only substantive study I have found is from 2013. Has anyone had success in dealing with chronic pain, what meds work best, any research known to educate doctors who are unaware of malabsorption? Thanks in advance.

Are there pain patches? Bypass the bypass..

Have you tried sublingual THC/CBD tincture? It also avoids the bypass.

There are also CBD creams that you massage into the skin, and those give you no high whatsoever.

If you're in a state where it's legal, ask around at a medical shop. They can get you started.
