I heard recently that they can take up to 3 months. Usually takes about 6 - 8 weeks.

you can get one expedited if you have a ticket in hand, but usually have to go to a passport office and you need an appointment.

yes...you have to show the travel plans...it can be an e-ticket. there is also a fee for expediting.

Hello Bill. I don't have a date scheduled yet but I am pretty sure I want to go with Dr. Illan. Neither my husband or I have a passport. Are you saying we really don't need one at all? What ID would we need in addition to the letter?
