I'm 6 weeks post and getting sick. Not sure if it is okay for cold meds like NyQuil and dayquil. Any suggestions on what I can take?

I was told to only take acetaminophen products. I'm not sure if that's on NyQuil, but it's what my surgeon mentioned.
