There are insurance requirements as well as surgeon may want certain tests and or clearances. For insurance most want either 3 or 6 month consecutive monthly physician diet and 2 year history of being obese. Then psychology eval, egd scope to start.

If self pay most requirements seem to be waived.

Welcome aboard Blev! It all depends on your insurance, but usually 3-6 consecutive months of supervised. Nutritionist, exercise and psych visits are part of it. Good luck on your journey, take the time to get your mind, body and soul ready for the change...it will be here before you know it!

Hello Blev :)

I started out at over 300 lbs, I was 300 on the day of surgery. I am 45, so you and I are about the same age.

I also had a hysterectomy and gained a lot of weight after that. And I am bipolar and the meds really attributed to even more weight gain.

So I just wanted to say "hi" and that I was excited like you are! Congratulations on making the decision to have the sleeve surgery. My only regret is that I didn't do mine sooner! :)
