assessment

Hi All,

So all went really well today. I arrived and got my weight and height taken which I was 3 pounds lighters from the last time I weighed and also half and inch taller. lol

I then saw the nurse who went few a series of questions regarding food, exercise health and mental health. It was explained that I would then have bloods and a ecg done before heading into the seminar.

once having my test I sat and took it everything that was being said about pre op and post op relating to food, about the 3 surgery's that are usually offered and also about the new research regarding what is more useful be it the band bypass or sleeve and if you didn't mind having any of them that you could be part of the research if you wished and it is pot luck what surgery u receive.

I need to wait till April to see the consultant and hopefully if I don't need anymore investigations into my health i will be seen by the mdt team in may to discuss my case. I hopefully will be able to get a sooner appointment but for now roll on April.

Hi, I am seeing the nhs consultant tomorrow after a very long road to get here. I was on a weightloss program for 6 months which failed so they sent me to the more intense one in preparation for the sleeve. I have managed to lose the 5% they require but I am also worried that by losing it, I will no longer qualify!

I am just scared I will stuff it up somehow by answering his questions with the wrong answers!

I really need this surgery, am extremely overweight and unable to lose it any other way. Can anyone advise if they have gone through the same thing and what actually happens in the interview?

HI - new to this & hoping for some advice.

I've been told that I am being referred to the weight loss surgery team for assessment for surgery as part of the NHS weigh management programme in Scotland

Does anyone know what types of questions they ask to assess me?

and what would lead them to decline me for surgery?

Been in the programme for 2 years now & really want the surgery so don't want to mess up at the final hurdle!

thanks everyone in advance,

Michelle
