Sleeved on December 30th

I was sleeved last Friday and post op 4 days. It is a struggle everyday when you have people around you that eats in front of your face knowing that the smell makes you nauseous. Sometimes I feel like I didn't make the right decision

I cried a few times in the first few days after surgery. Deep breaths - you will come out of this. If the smell makes you nauseous, you should excuse yourself. As far as other people, in my opinion,

  • I was literally in tears the 2nd night I came home. I felt like I made a mistake too. Don't give up on yourself. I'm only 3 days ahead of you (sleeved 12/27) but it's getting easier! We got this Se

  • That pain will subside. I think it took a couple of weeks for me but I just knew to prepare everytime I stood up. I tolerated it. Well worth it. See? I am 6 mths out and have forgotten those details.

Thank you soo much @redgirl37. I think it's just a change that I'm going to have to adjust to. And with it just happening Friday it's still new to me. I'm so use to my habits that being different or doing stuff different it's the main thing that's getting to me but I will just have to adjust Day by day and know that it was the best decision for my life

"Buyer's remorse" is incredibly common in the early days post-op. You are starving. You are in pain. You are hormonal (remember your system gets flooded with hormones as you break down stored fat). You are wondering if you will ever feel "normal" again. I promise you, it gets a little better and a little easier every single day. The pain only lasts a week or two. The fatigue only lasts a few weeks. You will eventually work your way through the food stages and get into a new routine with your eating. You WILL feel "normal" again. Maybe not the same "normal" as before. But a new "normal". It will probably take a few months to get there, but you will be SO SO glad you made this decision by then.

Have you made goals yet? I went out a year with where I would like to be. I made them sensible and conservative but the ending is FABULOUS! I made them conservative enough that I should blast past them and feel great. Then when it gets hard I think yeah, but will I make my goals if I eat this?

It also sounds AWFUL if you rip a stitch. Yuck!
