Single Incision VSG?

hey everyone! I was wondering if any of you have gotten the single incision vsg? If not, would you much prefer that one over your multiple incision one? I have the choice of either and am wanting the single incision, however, I fear about the increased chance of a hernia.

So this was my only surgery I've ever had, so I have nothing to compare it to, but from my experience I liked that I had multiple tiny incisions vs one large one. The pain from the incisions were VERY minimal, I did have one incision (the larger one where they pulled my stomach out) sting during the healing process for about 4 days which was uncomfortable, but I can't imagine how a larger scar would feel during the healing process.

Oh, no. The single incision is also small. They go through your bellybutton or slightly above it.

I've had several laparoscopic surgeries. I'm having mine done through the belly button only. I go tomorrow @ 5:45am!!!!

I wish I had that as a option I would go with the single incision : ) I haven't done any research on it tho my doctor is very good but she said she doesn't do single incisions now I wonder why?

@@Raymia I'm thinking single incision as well. I had a bellybutton piercing that didn't heal too well. So to have 5 holes on my tummy after going through all of this?! I'm not about it. I was afraid to opt for it, but I feel, if he offers it, why not? It's the option I'd much rather have.

Lucky you @@UnkemptCaptain : ) go for it! and make sure you keep us updated someone else may have a similar question and you'll have the answer!

9 days post op and have 5 incision sites. My Dr said I had scar tissue in my belly button so he couldn't do it all through it. Feeling great though and 13lbs down!!!
