I am feel weak and tired all the time.

Has anyone had any known deficiences since their surgery?

Who did the testing? Should I go to my primary care doctor or can the surgeon who did my surgery do the testing?

I've heard that about the calcium as well but I do still drink at least one glass of skim milk a day and my 6 month blood work ups have always come back fine so I haven't worried about it yet.

Thats crazy I had been feeling the same way. Probably for the past 2 - 3 weeks. I finally mentioned it to my husband and he told me to check my blood pressure. It turns out that my BP had dropped down significantly. (I have been on meds for this for a numer of years)

Called me doctor and he told me to cut my meds in half. it has just been 2days now of half the meds and my pressure not being as low and I feel MUCH better. Perhaps you should have your pressure checked. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

Dr Malley has ordered a CBC, CMP, Hemoglobin A1c, and a TSH, T4.

I can't find the Viactiv brand in sugar-free, but I LOVE the store brand sugar-free chocolate calcium chews. At first I felt like I was Cheating!!! Now I just feel like I'm having a little treat.

I also take the Centrum Silver, but am thinking about changing over to a natural rather than synthetic vitamin/mineral supplement....probably powdered.

Anyone have any suggestions on that???

Right now on my fridge I have two lab orders from two different docs, one from my pcp and one from my endocrinologist and looks like I'll be getting a third next month. I think all 3 doc s/b talking to one another - I had a gf who's pcp & endocrinolgist didn't talk to one another and she ended up having some heart problems from her thyroid meds...

You might have to ask Dr. Malley or his nurse Nikki for the blood work. I haven't been in for any adjustments in a long time. I see two other doctors too. I had a A1C for my diabetes in July, but it will be good to see if everything else is ok. My A1C in July was 7.4..not good enough for the doctors. I thought it was good. Too top things off...I have had shoulder pain too. I had a MRI yesterday. The report isn't done yet, but I have connections and it looks like I have bursitis and tendonitis. Now I am worried about taking so much Aleve for it. I'm going to have to ask Nikki when she calls for the results. HERE is the the BIGGEST thing that bugs me...I'm only 43 and falling apart! Losing weight hasn't really helped my energy level yet.

BUT...I did move my Vitamins to my bed table and I have taken them everynight now!:clap2:

Malley and the others shouldn't mind if you have all the labs done at once and sent to each of the docs.

I was self pay and the regular 6 month lap work tests the band docs want me to do isn't covered. So I got the list of tests they wanted and showed them to my PCP She was more than willing to add them to the lists of labwork she wanted to run so my insurance would pay the bill. Then I've just hand delivered or faxed the results in to my band doc. I was originally with Hoehn, but switched to Malley this year. So I haven't done this with him yet but I'm planning on doing requesting my next round of labs from my PCP next week. Some docs might require the labs to be forwarded through more formal channels but they should have no reason to insist they all be done seperately.

Oops; I found out when I was trying to donate blood and they said that my red blood cell count was too low. Then I went to the doctor and mentioned it and she checked my Iron.

Got back my results...my A1C (Ave. blood sugars) are 8.5, which is high but lower than before the surgery. That is all my doctor mentioned, but after I got a copy from the lab there were some other things. Not sure how much they would do to my feeling tired...

Alkaline Phospatase - High

Lymphocytes - Low

I do feel better now that I am remember to take my vitamin!
