Liquid Vitamins ????

my lapband surgery is THIS Friday, Sept 14th. I went yesterday (Tuesday) and bought tons of flavored bottled Water, Gas X strips, Benefiber chewable tablets, advil, and anything else i could think of that i might need. Like applesauce and sugar free Jello.

the thing i'm most concerned about at this point is the liquid Vitamins that I was told I would need to start taking daily w/the lapband. i had a hard time finding it at the pharmacy.

I ended up buying Viativ Chewable Multi-Vitamins. Well, i thought i'd try one tonight to see how they were and the one i ate practically melted in my mouth, so it seems like it would be considered a liquid.

WHAT FORM/BRAND OF MULTI-VITAMINS DO YA'LL SUGGEST?

AND....IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD BUY IN PREPARATION FOR MY SURGERY SO I CAN COME HOME AND HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED ALREADY HERE. TRYING TO GET EVERYTHING TOGETHER FOR LESS STRESS AND WORRY THE DAYS AFTER SURGERY SO I CAN JUST RECOUPERATE AND GET TO KNOW MY BAND.

thanks! xoxo, Hazeleyegrl1

I just bought a bottle of "Liquimax" Complete Nutrition from Costco. It is a liquid vitamin with Antioxidants and Omega 3, 6 & 9. I have not used it or tasted it yet, but it was recommended by another lapband person... It says it is a fruit flavor... I also bought Costco brand "Calcium Chews" chocolate flavored, 500 mg with vitamins D & K...

I use Centrum chewables and Caltrate+D plus mineral for calcium. (Viactiv vit and Tums are good substitutions. The liquid stool softener burned my throat so I got it in pills and crushed them.

Remember to bring your favorite lip balm and body lotion for the stay at the hospital. I forgot mine and nothing they gave was good enough.

Good luck! :car:

I bought the store brand chewable vitamins and some chewable calcium. I still have four prescriptions that I need to take each day. At 4 wks after banding I can chop them into pieces and swallow some in the morning and the rest at night.

Hope your surgery went well. I was banded Aug. 15. I was told to take a chewable multivitamin with iron twice a day. I tried the gummy bear vitamins, but they did not have iron. I was also told to take 2000 mg of flax oil or fish oil a day. The capsule form was very large and I changed to Coromega. It comes in a small packet like the size of ketchup. It comes in three flavors lemon lime, chocolate orange, and orange. It can be squeezed out of the pack directly into your mouth or stirred into food. My dietician said the body asorbes this form three times faster. I also take 1000 mg of calcium (calcium citrate) with viatmin D. Citracal with (calcium citrate & D) is like having a special treat twice a day. It comes in a candy chew in three flavors chocolate, carmel, and lemon. I get the citracal and flintstones from the store or pharmacy. The coromega I get from their website Coromega, DHA, EPA, Fish oil for Heart, Joints, Skin, and Brain. They will send free samples for you to try. I was told to start the fish oil two weeks after my surgery. Good luck you will do fine :clap2:
