No passport or birth certificate

So I am getting my surgery Oct 18 with Dr Garcia and it was planned pretty fast after being denied by insurance so little time. I was going to try and get a passport card but couldn't find my birth certificate to get it. I was told the card is not really needed...just come with ID and birth cert. I just ordered one on a rush yesterday but it says 5 to 10 business days so likely wont make it in time. I read other places online people saying they got through with just id and ss card. Anyone done this?

We went to Mexico in June. Getting our Passport for my hubby was kind of like a nightmare. It got down to us receiving it on a Sunday and we left Monday. Because of his MOM changing his name from Clarence Eugene to Eugene Clarence without doing it on his birth certificate they gave us the run around. It ended up costing us $27.00 more to have it over night delivered. We needed our birth certificate and ID cards. They are strict on having all of their ducks in a row. I sure hope you can get it all together. Good Luck

Hi Brenda Sherwood,

I addressed this topic some time ago.

I found that post after I posted this. Dont really have a choice but to try. Ive already paid for my flight and deposit for surgery

@@Brenda Sherwood - check with homeland security. They can give you real info since they deal with that all the time.

One of the dumber things I did was crossing over the border for dinner one time, and I realized I had brought cash, but left my wallet in my hotel room in the US. So I am walking back over hoping they will let me back in, I explained what an idiot I was to the border guy, and he asked where you born "Shaw AFB, in Sumpter County SC." He looked at me and said, "well you can't make that one up, hop on over." ;-) Glad I didn't say Cleveland, or NY.
