Straw = pain

I ventured out today for a change of pace. My waterbottle broke while i was out so I got a cup of unsweetened tea in a cup. I absent mindedly popped a straw in. The pain I felt in my chest was bad. I could figure out why for a minute . Moral of the story : straw = pain

    My NUT told me no more caffeine, straws or gum after surgery. It still amazes me how all programs are different.

Really? I got a straw in the first bottle of Water they gave me at the surgery center. I use them constantly. Maybe you just sucked up too much at once?

All I know is it was sharp pain in my chest. Maybe it has to relate to the hiatal hernia repair. I sipped normal from the cup and was fine.

I'm glad you can use it. I hate going to restaurants and drinking from the glass unless it's beer.
