Hello everyone, please help with your advice...

Hello everyone, I’ve finally gotten an apt. for the diet doctor and hopefully the surgeons. I’m very happy about this.:clap2: It’s been a long time and my insurance runs out at the end of November. The problem that I’m faced with is, my regular doctor said that I need to have the bypass surgery. I thought that I had my mind made up to have the lap band done. But now I’m undecided. I know that there are positive and negative’s for either one.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

If anyone here can tell me why you choose the lap band instead of the bypass it would help me with making my decision.

<o:p></o:p>

Thank you in advance for anyone that can help out with this.

<o:p></o:p>

Rhonda

The only reasons I could think of for someone needing to have the bypass over the band would be this:

The patient needs to drop considerable weight really quickly for an urgent health issue.

The patient admits to being unwilling to follow the band's post-op program.

So, if I had to guess...the problem is exactly as Jack said...the doctor is too unfamiliar with the band to feel comfortable endorsing it, which is disappointing. My doctor was the same way a year and half ago...I don't know why I would have thought most docs would've gotten the news flash that the band is safe and effective by now!

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
