2. Hello everyone, I've been going back and forth with my insurance company about having the band done. They have agreed to do it, but my insurance changed this month. The new insurance doesn't cover this procedure. I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate on how much this procedure was in Mexico? I'm trying to save some money not, but it's very difficult being a single mom. Thank you for any information that you can provide. Rhonda

7. Hello everyone, I’ve finally gotten an apt. for the diet doctor and hopefully the surgeons. I’m very happy about this.:clap2: It’s been a long time and my insurance runs out at the end of November. The problem that I’m faced with is, my regular doctor said that I need to have the bypass surgery. I thought that I had my mind made up to have the lap band done. But now I’m undecided. I know that there are positive and negative’s for either one. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> If anyone here can tell me why you choose the lap band instead of the bypass it would help me with making my decision. Thank you in advance for anyone that can help out with this. Rhonda
8. Hello, I was looking around online and seen mini gastric bypass surgery. Its completed in 30 min's and your out of the hospital in 1 day. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this procedure, and if anyone has given it any thought of trying this instead of a lap~band? Please let me know, I'm now undecided between the two. Thank's for any information or advice you have or imput. Rhonda
9. Thanks for the advice, I've been trying and not having much sucess with it either. I'm trying to practice for when I start my band life as well.
10. I think that the first thing you should do is call your insurance company. If you have any questions on what's covered and what's not. That's what I did and found out that its covered with what I have now, but in December my coverage is changing to Aetna. I called Aetna and gave them the company's group number to see what's covered and what's not. I'm hoping that I can get this completed before December when my current coverage changes. I also told my current doctor's that my coverage is changing in December and if there was anything that they could do to hurry the process up. So far I had the second apt. before my mother did, and we went to the same first apt. She just got her second apt for Aug. 29th. I'm going to try and call them tomorrow and see if they have any further information on when I can have the next apt. I'm trying to loose enough weight before hand so I wont have to starve my fool self for the last stretch of this process. Its also been a long process, but I'm hoping to see the light coming soon. Take care and good luck with everything and please keep us all posted on how things are going.
11. I think it's only natural for everyone to "check out" every one's pictures. I'm sure every one on here has done it, but I don't think the women are "checking ~ checking :eyebrows: out" the pictures like your talking about.
12. I haven't tried Limewire yet. I use soulseek and havent gotten any viruses. Download's are pretty fast depending on your connection.

18. What a great idea! I would like to buy a few new outfits and go on a trip to somewhere warm. I would like to go to Discovery Kingdom. AKA Six Flags Marine World and go on the roller coasters. I didnt fit the last time I was there, and was do embarrased when I had to get off. I would like to go to any store and buy something that is not in the women's section, or the plus size section. I want a new swimsuit and head for the beach. Go dancing and have a good time. Just to look in the mirror and be happy with who's looking back.
19. You all are doing so wonderful!!! :clap2: How depressing, I think I have the highest BMI on this board. :cry I can't wait to get the aid of the band to assist in my weight loss. Until then I'm trying to loose some weight and dreaming about the day.
20. I'm happy to see that there are people from around the world on this board. I find it amazing at how small the world has become because of the internet.
21. Thats so wonderful VickiJ!!!!! I'm so happy for you. Are you having the band or bypass surgery? I wish I was going down to SSF instead of Richmond. When I went for the phy. eval she told me that there getting 50 referals a day for bariactric surgery.
22. Congratulations Sunshine2!!! Thats wonderful!!! I'm 5'6" and haven't met with my doctor yet. Thats just a goal that I've set for myself. I was just wondering if I was being unrelistic being that I have a long way to go to get there.
23. Hello, I'm new to this board and I've found so much information that I don't think I would have ever learned any where else. I want to ask you because I'm close to what you use to be before being banded, what is a reasonable goal weight? I would like to be 147 - 157 when I'm done, but I dont know if that is a relistic goal for myself. I've read so much on here and am very inspired about everyone on this board. You all are so helpfun and wonderful. Thank you all very much.
