Surgery date set~ October 9.

Recommended Posts

I know I am doing this for all the right reasons. So excited, yet afraid.

For those of you who have already had the surgery, I have no one to bring to my appointment. Was this necessary for you?

My surgery is 9/28 but my doctor requires that someone is there to take you home, they don't require anyone to be with you when you arrive for surgery. I'm sorry no one will be with you when you go to the hospital, its nice to have emotional support anytime you are having surgery. I wish you the best and a safe recovery.

I read in the instructions that I may be kept at the hospital post Surgery for a day or two. I'm hoping I'd be less groggy or sedated by the time I'm leaving.

Good luck to you on the 28th! Almost there! :)

I have BCBS that requires a 1 night stay and possibly more if there are complications. Some people are so out of it with the anesthesia even after 24-48 hours they need someone with them to listen and understand your discharge instructions, fill your prescriptions, etc.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
