Thrush?

Has anyone gotten thrush on their tongue? I have brushed it off and mouth washed my mouth so far it's worked till end of each day looks like it comes back..... If you did what did you do? I'm also only a week out from surgery

Yes, I had thrush a week after surgery. My surgeon told be it was very common due to the stress of surgery and the antibiotic I was given. He gave me 10 days of diflucan

Yes, I actually got thrush with both of my surgeries. It is primarily caused by the antibiotics they give you before and after surgery and will not go away without medication. The first time I got it, I was prescribed a medication that you swish, swirl and swallow, which worked great. The second time, I went to a different doctor and he prescribed me a pill that you let dissolve on your tongue and cannot drink for two hours after (which is not very convenient for bariatric patients) and that did not work as well, in my opinion.
