I had my 2 week post op visit and was told absolutely no exercise until week six. Until then and encouraged is walking, walking, walking. While here in South Florida that is near impossible, its so blazing hot. So I head to the mall now and walk there.

Fluid intake is difficult in the beginning. Wait until you move to soft foods. With the 30/30 rule, I'm finding it even more difficult to get the Protein and the fluids in. Everyday I wake up earlier so I can start earlier but it is hard

Walking only for 6 weeks or until your dr allows you(My wait was 8 weeks). Walk a little longer/further each day. Then it was a gradual increase of running and weight lifting.

If you have a Planet Fitness near you, you can get a membership for $10 a month and they have free personal trainers.

Are you eating yogurt, s/f Jello, s/f pudding, s/f Popsicles? They all count toward your Fluid intake and was allowed on my 2 week liquid post op diet

I was about 5 or 6 days post op before I turned the corner and could get fluids in more easily. Just keep at it with the sipping - seriously, the first couple days home i would start sipping at 6 am and not stop until midnight and still only get about 44oz in. Then one morning the sips went down MUCH easier.

Most programs don't want you doing any core exercise until 6 weeks out so you can heal. However, you can walk walk walk starting immediately. Just try to walk a little further/longer each time. At 6 weeks I added in some resistance band work and more intense exercise DVD's.

I'm at my 2 week mark tomorrow and my dr. Told me to walk but keep it easy. I'm not sure about others, but I lose energy pretty quickly and can't walk for too long yet. I'd say if your dr. clears it and you're comfortable with it, go for it. Just take it slow so you can figure out how your body will react

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
