So honestly I'm just beginning I have oregon health plan. The free insurance through the state. Which does not cover gastric bypass unless you are diabetic which I am not. So I enrolled in blue cross blue shield through my job. Which does cover the surgery. So I have that insurance starting September 1,2016. Honestly I don't know to much about where to go in Oregon but I think I am going to Oregon weight loss surgery which is legacy health in Portland. What's ur story so far.

I have Ohp as well and no diabetes.. So I just got offered a job at the mental state hospital and the program I'm going to is at Salem health and they said the state hospital insurance covers it so low I'm waiting to start, and I was told that my insurance should be immediate.. And on average it takes 3 months to get all the labs and appointments done just depends on how open people's schedules are to get things done and they are pretty fast at schedule an surgery date.. So I'm looking before the years over to get it done

I am going through Kaiser and the surgery will be done in Clackamas. I have been on this journey since December of last year. I have one more visit with the NUT in 6 weeks, then labs, then surgeon. Fingers crossed for Nov. or early Dec.

I'm in PDX. I had my RNY at Legacy with OWLS 8 days ago.
