Hi guys. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery July 13 th and I've been great with no pain or other major complications. However, I recently have had major dizzy spells. They've been so bad that I've had to be walked around. Anyone experienced repeated dizziness? Reasons why? What did you do to fix it?

I was sleeved on the 12th. I'm going through the same thing. I get dizzy when I stand up too fast. It can be due to dehydration (I can tell I'm a little dehydrated, but not majorly). It can also be because of blood sugar or electrolytes being off. Or low blood pressure.

If the dizziness happens immediately after you stand up (or after you sit up when you are lying down), it could be orthostatic hypotension, which is something a lot of wls patients experience for several weeks after surgery. Try pumping your legs like you are riding a bike for about 30 seconds before standing up, to get the blood flowing.

General low blood pressure and dehydration are the other big issues that tend to crop up with post-op dizziness, from what I have seen. If you are on blood pressure meds, they may need to be stopped or adjusted. Are you monitoring your blood pressure at home?

Are you making sure you get at least 64 oz of fluids daily?

Assess and discuss with your bariatric team -- they will want to know about this and should be able to help you figure things out. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
