Typical pre-op work up for any surgery. FYI, mine also did a nicotine test to make sure I had none in my system....

The surgical team has to make sure that you are "you", for one thing.

They also check:

blood type in case of transfusion need

pregnancy test

STD testing

MSRA testing

Narcotic testing

Nicotine testing

There's soooo much about us that is revealed through our blood.

It's all routine.

It's all good.
