My Story

Hello. My name is Jutun and I just had bypass surgery on July 12th. Everything went well and I was sent home July 14th. I am on a liquid diet and I am not doing well with the chicken broth. I need other ideas of things to eat for this week. Any suggestions?

Hi Jutun, there isn't much they allow you unfortunately :'(

I made my own I found the boxed kind was disgusting. I tried to make it so I had my fluids in without having the broth. Its not easy :'(

I'm 9 days post op and just allowed greek yougurt & cottage cheese. You'll get there!!

Good luck ;-)

Have you ever tried the chicken broth called better than buillion? It comes in a jar near the chicken broth section in the soup aisle and I think tastes better than the canned stuff. You just add the amount for the flavor you want. Also miso soup is really yummy if you allowed that option. You can pick some up at an Asian grocery store.

I got sweet and sour soup from the local chinese store and strained all the veggies out. It was the best broth ever!

It's a hard time right now, but soon you'll be on to pureed foods, and while they aren't a ton more exciting, at leaset you have a little variety there!

Hang in there, this too shall pass!

I made some decaf chai tea today and put it in the fridge. I mixed 8 oz with a scoop of unflavoured Protein powder and a no cal sweetener and with some ice it was actually very refreshing! The spices in the tea cut the taste of the protein... Which was nice. If you don't like chai perhaps there is a fruit tea you could make? My surgery was July 15...so I feel your pain and frustration!
