infected port

Hello I had surgery on 8/13/07 two days later my port incission got infected. I was put on antibiotics thru a IV. I have to go daily to get

IV. Also i feel terrible ,my stomach area is very tender, just going to get

my IV drains me. I'm very uncomfortable I'm following my DR. orders just

drinking clear liquids resting VERY much I'm always sleepy after my pain

medication. Now after six days of antibiotics I still have a slight fever.

Going to see my surgeon tomorrow. hopefully no one has gone thru this.

But if anyone has or has any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated. :)

I had surgery June 1, 2007 and 2 weeks before my first fill in early July. My longest incision right above my port got infected. I am still till this day getting that treated by my doctor. It is taking the longest to heal. He has put me on Levaquin 750mg for 21 days and now another 21 days. He is treating it as much as he can, but if it continues to not heal my port will have to come out for 3 months. I just keep gauges over it and breathable tape and change it 2 to 3 times a day. I definately understand what you are experiencing.
