Will I still be able to have the sleeve surgery if they find I have gastritis when I have my scope?

I would think that they'd look for a cause and treat if possible before surgery. I doubt they'd operate with acute gastritis.

Not the same, but my surgeon ended up taking 2 biopsies during my scope and found that I have esophagitis. He just put me on 2 new Meds that I take up until surgery day. Didn't postpone anything.

Thanks for the replies. I'm having s flare up and have to have my scope soon. Looking at surgery for October or November and hope to be healed by then. I have also had esophagitis. Have you ever had back pain with it? I'm feeling pretty crappy. My own fault. Been drinking way too much Diet Coke and it always ends up with some kind of stomach or esophagus pain.

I just got my results from EGD and they said i had some minor inflammation/gastritis but it wouldn't postpone anything.
