Headaches from "red" drinks?

There was a thread not to long ago - I think it was about Crystal Light but I can't find it now. I also did a google search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I think a few people were saying that the dye or something in red colored/flavored drinks gives them a headache. Am I making this up? lol

I ask because I've been having a lot of headaches lately - I just started my liquid pre-op diet, so that could be the culprit the past few days.

I've been drinking a lot of Crystal Light (one of the red flavors) because I'm trying to kick soda.

I was one of the people who found out that drinking A LOT of fruit punch Crystal Light gave me headaches. I just stopped drinking so much of it and the headaches stopped for me. Good Luck!!!

Thanks.

Raspberry Ice is what I've gotten hooked on.

I bought some green tea bags to make homeade iced tea and a few of the Crystal Light Ice Teas ... we'll see what happens.

I miss my diet soda ;)

Amen to what Bubble said... caffeine deprivation is notorious for giving headaches, especially if you have been imbibing in it for a long time. Try drinking a caffeinated tea when you get headaches (if you are not a coffee drinker). You may just find it knocks them out.

I don't think it's caffeine because I've been almost completely off soda for about 2 months now and I'm not a coffee drinker.

I drink a lot of Crystal Light but the other day I drank over a quart of the Fruit Punch. I ended up with a severe headache later in the day, which is rare for me. I don't know if it was the punch, but since then, I have cut back.

I was going to log on and whine about having a caffeine headache all day. I don't drink a lot of caffeine, but more than four days without any and I'll get a headache -- today was the day!

So far I've not gotten a headache from the fruit-flavored drinks, but just wanted to say has anyone tried the sugar free Hawaiian Punch .... it is THE BOMB!!! I don't think I could tell if was SF if I didn't know.

Also, I love the grape flavored one -- with Finding Nemo on the box...? -- it's CLEAR and is great for taking to restuarants and stirring into a glass of water!!!

Seriously, tho', ya'll this is HARD for me! I did NOT grow up with Kool-aid and I'm just not into fruity flavored stuff!

And it goes double for the Protein shakes!!

ENOUGH ALREADY!!

Okay.

I feel better now!

Well ... All I drank today was Fruit2o and Crystal Light Peach Tea ... no headache.

Maybe that Raspberry Ice was the culprit? (I sure hope not 'cuz boy is it yummy!) I'm going to experiment a little more in the next week.

I get this awful headache after eating my meals...anyone else get these? I don't know if I'm eating too fast or what...BUT, I'm only eating 1/4 cup for my lunch and I get them everyday since my last fill about 3 weeks ago. Any suggestions on "WHY" Thanks Janine:help:
