allergy to Whey protein

I am pretty sure that I am allergic to whey protein, I have been just miserable with bloating and nausea since I started my protein shakes and the more I have drank the worse it seems to have gotten. I have been looking into other protein alternatives, please help.

If you are post op, it may be a lactose intolerance rather than a Protein allergy. Also, how much sugar is in the shakes you're drinking? Have you tried other brands?

I would sat that I am both lactose intolerance as well, I always have been and avoid milk at most all cost. I am not mixing my shakes with milk. I am using pre mixed premier Protein, which only has 1g. of sugar and while it does have milk protein, I thought that I might be ok with it. but now I think I will have to find another source of protein. I am going to look into some more plant base Proteins, and see if this helps.

I'm not sure what is causing my problem with Protein shakes but I too have problems with them. Tried many different brands and all the same. I get what seems like dumping syndrome but weird thing is I never dump to anything else not even sugar and chocolate. So I'm off protein shakes and trying to get in as much protein as possible from my food. cheese is a good and easy option. So is Greek yogurt. Someone told me about Branched Chain Amino Acids as a substitute to protein but I'm currently trying to find out more about that. Hope things get better for you and me

Have any of you tried pea Protein shakes... that is lactose free... but i will warn you... its not the best tasting thing out there... i personally didn't like it... .. i didn't try adding anything to alter the flavour though.

How far out are you guys?? I am 7 weeks and have been on solids since week 4.... i am meeting my protein goals daily without needing to use shakes... i am one of those weirdos who have a aversion to chemical laden foods... so i try to stay away as much as i can
