Lap converted to Open???

Did anyone who had the surgery so far thought they were going to have it laparascopically and then wake up and find the surgeon converted to an open incision?

If this happened to you can you please share your feelings about this?

Thanks,

My doctor has done about 1,800 Lap bands and only had to convert to open once. He said that was a rare case due to siroccos of the liver and the patient knew up front, that it was a good possibility.<O:p</O:p
