Common practice to use self suturing

Yep. mine did. ;)

My surgeon used no external staples -- just the suturing glue with some miraculous long-lasting pain med mixed with the glue (I don't recall having any incision pain at all). My incisions healed great, and 20 months later I have a hard time finding my scars.

Hmmmmm, I was referring to the sleeve, not the incisions. My incisions just had a couple of sutures in each one.

However the sleeve was stapled, then over-sutured and finally glued. No leaks there. ;)

Yes, sorry, i meant for the actual sleeve (stomach). Im doing a couple of surgeons visits and the first surgeon mentioned he uses staples with self suturing sutures and tissue glue, i wasnt sure if this was something just his practice does or if it's standard.
