In agony with left shoulder! Help!

Hi all, I had my band op 20/4/16.

I feel so good in myself everything healing nicely. But my shoulder! I'm climbing the walls! I've tried heat, peppermint tea even gas remedies!

Does anyone please please have any other ideas or could tell me this will stop eventually! If this is a permanent fixture I'm doomed!!

It's been so bad at night it's been reducing me to tears! I've been walking for the last hour and half just to keep it away!

Please help! X

Moving (walking) is really the only thing that helps but do you have pain meds to take at night to allow you to sleep? If still bothering you tomorrow - I'd call your surgeon for guidance.

It will go away. Mine took about a week to completely go away.

Thanks guys.

I've got pain meds but they don't seem to help.

I don't wanna jinx it as I had a terrible night last night but during the day today it's not been as bad. But it's still there waiting to flare up I can feel it!

Thanks for taking the time to reply I really appreciate it x

I had the same thing. Major pain in left shoulder. Way worse pain than any incision pain. I filled a tube sock with rice and warmed it in the microwave and used it to massage and that helped some.

Ah that's s good idea tkhay04. I've still got it and I'm 10 days post op now, it's the only thing holding me back. At night its excruciating.

How long did yours last for?

Thanks for getting back to me. I've still got it 12 days post op now it's so painful it's driving me nuts and my shoulder is raw after constant hot Water bottles.

I had the same problem... It was the worst. I used a spray from Walmart to reduce the pain in my shoulder... It helped a little bit but then I would use the heating pad... I know your pain... It does get better though... I had mine about three weeks :/

Thanks Blm1 least I know there should be light at the end of the tunnel.

I've been up every 2 hours last night so had a very bad night.

I've never known pain like it!

That was the same problem with me :( it was such bad pain.... I had no problem with the surgery... That was my problem.

Still to this day ( I'm 3 months post op), I get a sharp pain in my shoulder, I'm not sure if it's a side effect but it's no where near as bad as the pain I experienced right out of surgery!
