August 9, 200718 yr I had my surgery two days ago. My surgeon fixed a hernia. Since then I cannot burp. I get the pressure build up and the pain but the gas will not release...has this happened to anyone? If so what would you do? It is very painful.
August 10, 200718 yr Sweetforlife - it has not happened to me personally but I read in one of these threads that if you walk on all fours like a dog it really helps. Sounds weird but a few have mentioned it. I've also read that if you walk around and move your shoulders that helps as well. Try it and let us know how you're doing.
August 10, 200718 yr Are you using the Gas-X? Some of the gas you are feeling may be from the CO2 that is in the abdominal cavity - there is no place for it to go and will reabsorb over time. I have read that people try heating pads, hot water bottles with some success. Good luck and let us know what does work.
August 10, 200718 yr Taking little walks helped me and the gas-x strips. Drinking tons of water also plus don't be afraid to burp.
August 10, 200718 yr I would suggest calling Dr. Cobourn's clinic and asking them for feedback regarding this. Donna Banded By Dr. Cobourn/06 Revised From VBG/87 251/142/125 goal
