  1. Hi there remember to breathe!! You will not feel a thing during surgery, you fall asleep wake up to find that it's all over with. I'm not going to tell you there is no pain involved, I may have had more because I dislocated ribs at the time. Gas-x helped, and the liquid codeine. Remember to keep moving slowly every hour and stay hydrated. I will pray for you and if you have more questions, feel free. It's not as bad as you are inticipating, the surgery is the easy part..trust me. Good luck!!
  2. Hi, I live in London currently. I was banded August 1st in Mississauga by Dr. Cobourn. How do you like it?
  3. Yes Peaches, I have had a noisey stomach and increased burping. Sue at the clinic said that it is common. Good luck with the rumblings!!
  4. hi, I'm on soft food at the moment. I like cottage cheese, eggs and tuna all seem to agree. Good luck.
  5. Hi there, you will probably want some one there for the first few days to make you comfortable and help you with things. I live alone also and i went and stayed with my parents which was a big help. Good luck!!
  6. I'm not saying I'm going to eat bread or have pop I just wanted to know if they go down before you have a fill. I was 3 weeks on optifast etc. and haven't done anything that isn't healthy, I was just wondering if I can have 1 piece of bread befor I have a fill and never again.
  7. Hi sorry to hear that. Did they tell you why they put fluid in the band? Hope you are feeling better.
  8. Hi everyone I was banded and on the purree stage but was wondering if before you get your first fill you can tolerate different food ex. bread, pop? Can eating harder things damage the band? I'm just getting sick of the mushy stuff. Thanks Kat
  9. wow you were out shopping, and we had surgery the same day and place. It took me a few days before I felt half normal. Glad you are doing well.
  10. Taking little walks helped me and the gas-x strips. Drinking tons of water also plus don't be afraid to burp.
  11. Congrats!! I was bandedAugust 1st with Dr.c. Went well but got an infection in my arm from the intervenous area. I have to take antibiotics and antinflammatories--not going down so well. Anyway this too shall pass.
  12. I'll see you in the post op room. I've been on Optifast for 2.5 weeks and have finally lost 16lbs. I didn't think I was. Good luck, see you at the clinic.
