Hi Andrea - I'm now on day 13 of Optifast -- take it one day at a time ...

There is not "right" or "wrong" amount to lose ... everyone is different -- depends on how much you weighed before you started, how active you are or are not, etc. I'm getting near the end and have only been weighing myself every 3-4 days -- so far I've been losing about 5 lbs every 3 days.

Keep true to the diet YOUR doctor gave you -- each place is different - some can have vegetables and pickles, others (like me) were told not to eat anything while taking the Optifast ... I really want my band to work, so I'm doing exactly as I've been told -- don't need any complications or hiccups along the way

MaryPat, in Toronto

I was on Optifast for 3 weeks and lost about 25lbs. I was able to eat a few veggies but those got old very quickly! You don't want to weigh yourself very often either as you may get discouraged if and when you don't see much weight coming off. Good luck to both of you. This is just the beginning...!

Hi,

i'm on day 14 of optifast, one week to go and I've only lost 10 lbs. and i think it should be more. but then again if is was easy for me to loose weight i woundn;t be having the surgery.

Hey Lferland, I notice that you had Dr. Cobourn band you. He is doing my surgery next month. Did you have any complications?
