I did not have these requirements and was surprised too. If you have been on a liquid diet though like I was, that may have mostly taken care of the issues. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the Bariat

Just added my pre-op diet above... includes a decent amount of solid food! I put a call into the nurse's desk last week and haven't gotten a call-back yet. Figured if others here hadn't needed one, no

I've had a bunch of surgeries over the past decade (no other WLS) and all have required some torturous bowel prep (basically cleaning out your bowels with laxatives and spending the day before surgery on the toilet) in addition to 1-2 days Clear liquids pre-op. I've read over all of my paperwork numerous times and see zero about bowel prep, which seems strange to me. Did anyone here have to do this? Seems it would be necessary with all the re-routing in RNY, but maybe not for some reason?
My liver shrink diet has included 2 weeks of:
- Protein bar or shake for Breakfast and lunch
- small serving fruit for snack morning and afternoon
- dinner of 3oz lean meat, 1c veggies, 6 unsalted crackers...
So not a fully liquid diet before; they're asking for 1 day clear liquids the day before surgery. Just seems weird to me, but I'm sure there's a reason for it, right?
Thanks for answers.
