My doctor said no problem. Just use your legs more when you pick up kids. I have a Sunday School class with the babies 0-9 months. I thought I would have to take some time off. They said that's fine. Just be careful and lift with your leg muscles. Different strokes for different folks...

Mary:rolleyes

I can imagine also the doctor might be ok with carrying kids around. Like Jachut said

Its more the act of lifting than actually carrying that could do damage, you tense and increase intra-abdominal pressure when you lift.

I know after my third child (C section) I was ok to carry my 3 year old but not allowed to lift her. So I used one of those baby tummy pouch carrier things with her with no troubles. Just made my ex pick her up and put her in it.
