Well.... its done... i am officially post op!!! Doing quite well surprisingly

  • Every little bit adds up. I have had some huge weeks of up to 4kg losses and then some weeks where I stay the same or only lose 100g. But seven months out it has added up to more than 50kg :) . The f

Well lucky me then.

I am assuming that once i start solids i will have more restriction?

Right now i am comfortable with 1/4 cup....

Definitely lucky @

I was similarly fortunate...

Take full advantage of the situation...

And enjoy the restriction!!!

I still struggle with more than half to 3/4 of a cup at 14 months out (on Monday)...

Hey!!! Im normal... yeah i am.. im sure i am... or am i?? Lol

Hi Guys Im from Melbourne i have been sleeved on the 12/4/16

How has your recovery been?

Good Im doing well but feeling hunger i dont know if its normal I started pureed food today so hope it will stop the hunger.

Hey Aussiegirl, did you say you are 2 DAYS post op and eating pureed food? My Dr had me on liquid only for 2 weeks, pureed for two weeks (which is where I am now) then I have mashed for 2 weeks prior to soft solids. All this so the stomach has time to heal. I also have had a fairly smooth run. Good luck to you but confirm with your medical team that you can have pureed 2 days out please?

Hey Slyvie, i had the hunger and puree definately helps. I am surprised at how much i can eat but it is still tiny compared to what i am used to.

Does the feeling go away after you eat or is it still there?

I had an uncomfortable 'empty' feeling for the first month which I thought could be hunger, but I realised eating wasn't helping it much either. Later I realised it was reflux and started medication. I don't have that feeling anymore.

Hi Finally free thanks for that, what is in the back of my head is stretching my sleeve and thats the last thing i want to do.

Absolutely. Feeling of hunger goes away when i eat, no reflux and not taking the meds. Got off the drugs asap out of hospital. Detoxing from them was the worst.

Re sleeve stretching, apparently it relaxes so increases marginally in size but it cannot be stretched, HOWEVER if you put the wrong food in it, you will gain weight. Yesterday i found i could eat soft chees triangles so i ate 4 during the day and put on 500grams. So lesson is have 1 or 2 triangles and no more. I was eating cheese because at the moment my protein is medium as i am a vegetarian and have a post op aversion to protein shakes, powder, anything artificual. ATM i am eating hummus with some avocado blended in. And thinking of the glass of wine I am not having, lol.
