I'm 22 years old. When I was 18 I had the gastric sleeve and it worked like a charm...when I wanted it to. At first I was super restricted and it was awesome. Weight was flying off. Then I hit a plateau and never got off. Instead my then 80 lb weight loss came back on with an additional 25lbs. Go me.
After two years of denial and thinking I still looked great in the mirror I was finally ready to do something about it.
Today, I met with my surgeon who agreed the bypass, or "conversion" surgery was for me. I am excited to get my life back, not be embarrassed to get up in the morning and put on clothes & be healthy again.
