I am scheduled for May 10th for a VSG in Texas but I also suffer from IBS-C and use a coconut Water liquid probiotic to deal with it. It seems like A LOT of people have constipation issues after surgery between no Fiber, pain meds, etc and I wondered if anyone knew if probiotic use was allowed shortly after surgery? I try to avoid medications if possible but am not particularly opposed if thats what needs to happen either.
I'm using the Probiotics regularly now so that when surgery happens all *that* is under control. Its only about a 1 ounce drink but its a little fizzy due to the natural fermentation of the bacteria. Should I go ahead and buy a costco size jar of stool softener or just keep using the probiotic?
Thanks!
