Surgery scheduler

So I called to see if there was an update about my surgery date. I was told by the receptionist that the scheduler would get to me after she went through the her stack of papers on her desk. I was approved on Monday and I still don't have a date.

This past Monday?--like two days ago? Patience, please.

Surgery scheduling is no easy task. It is extremely specialized and intricately difficult.

Many surgeons all wanting the ORs at the same times---overlapping surgeries---surgeries that require different times, different teams, different everything. --and everything has to be scheduled to the minute detail.

You'll have your surgery. Just pray for patience. It is better to wait another day than having the scheduler make an error in estimating ORs and or surgeons and staff, therefore having to cancel your surgery and reschedule it.

It seems like they have your life in their hands and they aren't as anxious to get this done as we are.

This is why I like the doctors that give a tentative date once everything is complete (pending insurance approval), instead of waiting until after approval to start scheduling. Not that I have that kind of doctor....but I wish I did.

a tentative dat would have been nice. The reason I expected to hear something is because I was put through as an EXPEDITED case.

How do you get on an EXPEDITED case?
