How long with Cigna

I turned in all my paperwork this morning. The surgeon will submit my paperwork next week on March 25, 2016.

How long before I know if I'm approved?

ETA you may want to check in with your surgeon's office once your paperwork has been submitted -- they will often hear back by fax or phone, while the insurance company sends you something by snail mail. So they tend to get word well before the patient does.

Thank you Bufflehead! When would you say is a good time to call Cigna?

@@lat72 if you haven't heard anything after 5 days, I would start by calling your surgeon to see if they have heard anything. If not, wait a couple more days, try your surgeon again, if still no response, then call Cigna. You want to be active and involved without making the people at the insurance company consider you a nuisance . . . it can be a fine line to walk!

I had a letter after four business days. I didn't even have to call. But I knew I had bariatrics covered on my plan. My surgeon and I scheduled my surgery date and everything prior to approval.

Well paperwork was submitted yesterday late part of day. Praying for a speedy approval. I'm nervous and anxious. Please pray I get approved. I started last Monday and lost 9.5 lbs.
