Hi guys!

Having my surgery in just over a week, March 17th, with Dr Skidmore. Getting a bit nervous now, not of the surgery, more the learning of how much to eat, what to eat etc? I've lost 13kg since start of December but plenty more to go. I'm on 2 weeks Optifast diet. I really enjoy the shakes, not so much the Soup so I've canned that. I'm eating veggies at lunch then holding off for my shake for an hour or two, it's more of an arvo treat that way. Plus my stomach curdles at the thought of hot & cold food at same time.

Lol yeah when he told me I said oh wow thanks! (I didn't even know I had one lol) & he said ethically he couldn't leave it.

Puréed baked Beans yesterday tasted so delicious! Lol! Had puréed canned Soup for dinner, tonight I'll buy some chicken to add to it for extra Protein.

When I puréed the baked Beans, I got a measuring cup out, got what I wanted and left the rest in the can for later. When I did the soup though, I blended the whole amount & then measured out my serve & put the rest in fridge for today. I think in hindsight that's easier.

Yeah nexium I have to take daily. They gave me them a month of them to take home, a month of a Multivitamin & a month of Vitamin b1. Only need to take b1 until that pack runs out, but the others are ongoing.

I'm on puréed food this week and last 2 morning have had 1 wheetbix with milk & both times haven't been able to finish. I've only lost 2kg this week compared to 4.5 the first week but I'm struggling to drink enough this week. I don't feel thirsty and need to remind myself to drink

What are you having for Breakfast and dinner? Are you coping ok to have it? They gave me soup, just a little bowl, and I had probably half? They also gave me a glass of sustagen and I had about 3 sips lol. Other then that just lots of Water. I find even now, when I eat or drink, I feel the need to burp. Mainly when eating. I struggle to let one out, I've never been a big gassy girl & whenever I would be like this in the past I would go get a glass of Coke, skull it down & let the gas in the Coke do its job lol. But can't do that now so sit there for ages doing these tiny little burps lol. Are you up and walking yet?

Yeah im getting abit of little burps, some hiccups. But it comes and goes. Overall im feeling much better but will see if the pain returns once im off endone. I have a tea/oj with 160ml choc shake for breakfast. 160ml of soup with another shake for lunch. dinner is another shake with either a soup or a sustegen. Im finding dairy is going down easier than natural juices at the moment. I also drink some Water as well. So i am averaging 800mls+ a day. But its not easy and i have to keep at it. I also am walking for up to 5min 4-5 times a day as well. How long since you had the op?
