Happiness

Today is the big day, March 7th at 1pm. I literally have these intense feelings of bliss, happiness, and a good kind of anxiousness.

I went from being completely paranoid about the anesthesia to getting over that fear. Not completely but for the most part. And I now I am just so grateful for all the support I have and all that I have learned from this forum. I feel so completely READY. The first day I came onto this site a girl wrote to me and said girl enjoy your journey and omg what amazing words.

This has been such a journey so far and I just feel endless gratitude for the good and the bad. I was literally in the hospital having a panic attack two weeks ago to hysterically crying to a friend about my biggest fears to now being so happy.

Thanks for all the support and nice words and story sharing.

See you all on the other side.

Ask for the mouth swab for people with dry mouth. My nurse gave it to me, it saved wonders. And ask for chap stick as well!! They also have gas reliever. You'll feel better soon

I was surprised by the chest pain as well. It is the co2 from the laproscopy trying to get out. It will pass. Congrats!!!

Day 2: most gas has subsided. Got nausceos and threw up a little. Trying to get liquids down so I can go home. The more I sleep the better I feel.

I am right behind you.. How are you doing?

@@Marie2016 I am doing well.. Everyday truly does get better. I am going to be very honest... I am not getting enough protein in, I just don't want that thick consistency, I'm thirsty so I crave water, Gatorade, etc.. Also, I am hungry. People eat around me and so far I have craved ever single smell that has found its way up my nose. I layed low until today, just went to school.. Left a bit early bc I was getting very tired. So excited for puréed foods you have no idea. Ecstatic that the gas pains are gone but have this weird sensation in my throat that is very annoying. Maybe acid reflux? The tight chest when drinking feeling has been getting better every day. I truly believe that sleep, walking during the day, and staying hydrated are healing me right now. I know I need protein.... Tell me how you are.. How's it going? How do you feel?

NervousNelly719, I am doing well... I have not had surgery yet. March 16 is my day.. I am so excited. Can't wait.. I hope you feel better and more energy soon. Keep in touch...

Omg you have to keep in touch! I'm so excited for you!!!! @@Marie2016 texting/ looking at my phone was very difficult for me post Anesthesia but if you can give me an update I would love to tell what little tricks helped me. If you feel gassy walk! Walking literally got me out the hospital somewhat early, calmed me down, relieved gas pain, made drinking easier... Ugh never loved my legs so much

Absolutely... sounds great,, question What are your go to drinks under the High Protein liquid portion of the diet?

  • Author

This is hard for me and I'm not the best example. I haven't been able to get all of my protein in. The jay bob protein is by far the best and pre op I drank it like a champ.. Post op not so much. The peanut butter powder helps though. Have you heard of it? And I use almond milk, unsweetened of course. I have a very hard time with sugar free tasting things as well so lemon water, Gatorade (3 times a day 4oz max) ice pops (edys no sugar added), plain water, sometimes broth, miso or wonton.. These things really got me through

@@nervousnelly719,

Thanks for sharing your experiences! Congratulations on your surgery. It’s great to hear your day by day account of your thoughts and experiences – it can really help others. Good luck as you move forward!

Today is one week postop ... I feel pretty amazing considering how I felt .. I was very in tune with my body pre op and now I feel like I am getting to know myself again which can be challanging at times. On Saturday night my friend had a birthday at a steakhouse and I went. Had only Water and left before the food came out. My energy was up and I didn't want to miss it. I try to walk as much as I can. Physically and mentally I get better every day. I am very excited to finally have a new normal which I am realizing Takes time. I have been taking normal sips and even guzzled water the other day bc I forgot I couldn't and was actually OK.

My throat and ear has been hurting so bad. I wasn't taking my acid reflux meds bc I really hate meds and once I did I instantly felt so much better. I've decided to just take them for the best couple of months.

My next app is this Wednesday and I look forward to seeing the doctor.

How are you doing ?
