1st time eating

I got my surgery today and i just eat sugar free Jello and a little bit of chicken broth. I've been eating ice chips and now I'm sipping on crystal light. I do feel like i have something heavy on my chest and my voice is cracking a little bit, but im doing good.

Hi! I had my surgery March 1st too. I'm not able to eat until later today but that doesn't even sound good right now. How are you feeling? On day two I feel headachy and a little crampy which must be the gas.

My throat hurts too! The hiccups would be horrible right now. I slept well but only for four hours. Omg I must be loopy I said my surgery was March 1st. It was yesterday the 2nd so this is day two for me also

What have you been taking for the pain? I did morphine and torodal (sp?) yesterday. Still feel like I need it but don't want to be a whiny baby in here.

Oh I don't want to be in pain. I just don't know if I should expect to feel no pain or if I should tolerate a little discomfort. Am I making sense or am I needlessly trying to be a tough girl?

  • 1 month later...

Today I'm post op day 1. I met my goal of 24 ounces. Yesterday the first 2 small sips of ice water in post anesthesia care unit gave me a funny feeling, it wasn't quite pain or nausea, but quickly went away. Later I tolerated ice chips better, I probably had 300 ml of clears at home POD 0. I do have a lot of pain at my port site, but no pain or nausea from sipping.
