I am three months out and tried a low sugar oatmeal this morning. I added some blueberries as I had tried those before without a problem. But I am still paying for Breakfast over three hours later. My pouch feels awful...like it's coming up the esophagus and just sitting there. I guess it's the "stuck" pain that people talk about. And maybe I ate it too fast. There was plenty of liquid to help it go down. But...sigh...i hate this part of having the surgery.
I guess it's all in the "learning curve" though. I am very happy with the weight loss and I feel great, otherwise! Yesterday i went out for lunch with my daughter to Boston Market and had a drumstick off of her "1/2 chicken" plate. I took the skin off and the chicken went down just fine and tasted great. I ordered an extra side of mashed potatoes and gravy and ate about 1/3 of that. So eating out is becoming more doable. I brought the leftovers home and had them for dinner. I'm looking forward to trying a salad but I'm not sure I'm ready. It's scary to try new foods....because if they do "get stuck," it's so very uncomfortable!
