throw up one week post op?

Has anyone else thrown up during the first two weeks post op? I was transitioning from the full liquids to pureed meats and it didn't go well. I threw up, but very lightly. Should this be a big concern that I have messed up my band or stiches and should call my doctor?

Hey BL

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I threw up twice the same day I had the surgery... I couldn't even handle Water with the morphine and the anesthesia. The nurses and doctor knew about it but they told me not to worry... I was much more worried than they were.

I would give yourself some more time on easier mushies than pureed meat. Maybe just do a day or two of refried Beans or yogurt... something that is easier on your stomach than the meat. Also, remember that if you do throw up to stay on liquids for the rest of the day as a PB can be quite irritating.

Good luck!

I got the stomach flu a day after being banded. I threw up prob about 10x. I called my doc, she told me to go to the ER. They checked my band and said it looked perfect. So i wouldn't worry about throwing up alittle once. If it gets out of hand call your doctor though.
