Nausea and Fatigue

I'm 6 days post op. Today I went to the grocery store to walk a little and get foods for the next phase. I became very fatigued and nauseous. They thought of food is making no me nauseous. Is that normal? I now have myself scared to eat. I'm on straight liquids right now. I ate sugar free jello the other day and ended up with diarrhea for about 18 hours. Tomorrow I start pudding and creamy soups plus vitamins. Any thoughts?

It is more likely that your weakness and nausea are dehydration. Are you getting all of the liquids you should be at this point?

That first week can be really rough and getting dehydrated is a vicious circle. Also diarrhea is very common during the liquid phase s weaned ab make your dehydration worse.

Make sure to keep your blood pressure monitored, too.

I found in those early weeks mine was running low for the first time in my adult life. Weight loss plus my normal daily meds.

The meds were adjusted....cut in half. I felt almost immediately better.

Easy to get dehydrated, too. Always have a bottle of Water within reach !!!!
