Looking for April 2016 sleevers?

Hi,

I have started the pre-op journey and am hoping for a surgery date sometime in April. I would love to buddy up with someone having surgery around the same time?

Hi. My name is Deborah Myers. My surgery is April 18. Next week i get to learn how to do some of the food. I have to see the dietician for six weeks due to insurance. Insurance will either decide to support or not support two weeks prior...

Yay! April sleevers. I won't be able to get a date until after my third MWM class which is in the middle of march. I would love for my date to be April 1st!! I am going to find out if that's possible at my next appointment. I'm so excited and so scared at the same time. Where are you ladies from? I'm from Philadelphia.

I'm from California but currently live in Oregon.

Glad to see so many people about to go through the same thing at the same time!

If I understand the procedure with my insurance, I have to have 6 visits with a nutrition counselor for 6 months. I must lose and keep off at least 15lbs of which I am down 25lbs. Plus, bmi needs to be a certain measurement which I had a bmi of 59 when I started.

Now I have to wait for a meeting with the surgeon 2 weeks prior to the surgery date. As I understand, insurance approval will occur then.

I plan on calling insurance to see when approval will occur as this late date has me concerned.

Hey April 2016 sleevers! I have a "secret" group on Facebook for folks getting sleeved during (or around) April - if you'd like to join friend me & I'll add you - Alea Birbeck (pic = me smiling) <3

I will be having my surgery around the middle of April, I don't have the exact date yet but I will post when I see my surgeon for clearance next month.

@@bluemangos .. I added you on Facebook just a few minutes ago. :)

Talked to my nutritionist.. she said it's possible I could get my surgery as early as late march!

March 9th --- done with my last class, surgery request will be submitted to insurance that day.

8-10 days later -- Approval, then scheduling

There's a wait list here at Mayo Clinic for gastric bypass, but many more surgeons that perform the sleeve. I could get right in once I'm approved!
