January 25, 201610 yr Hey guys im 6 days post op and having mixed feelings. Just looking for some buddies who are going thru this journey around the same timeline as I am
January 25, 201610 yr Well, I am not 6 days out but I will be happy to share my journey. I was sleeved 7/27/15 and I am 70 lbs down.
January 25, 201610 yr I had the surgery on a Monday and went home on Thursday. It was painful (to be expected when they remove most of your stomach), but not unbearable. My advice, follow the rules so you won't relapse or injure your surgery site. It will be a major adjustment especially since you are used to eating whatever you want whenever you want. After surgery, you will have to train your self to eat and treat differently. But, I would do it all again!
January 25, 201610 yr Author Hi guys. I am one week post op today. Day 2 was the worst. I had alot of pain but my situation was a little differnt than most people. I ended up with an arterial line in my wrist and central line in my neck and drain on my right side of my abdomen. The first full day I couldnt move because of the arterial line taking blood pressures internally. So by the second day I was full of air. Thankfully the 3rd day was great and since then I have no pain and forget I even had surgery last week. Im using isopure drinks (for protien) since it is easier to drink clear liquids than the creamed stuff. I am so excitrd to start my pureed diet on Thursday!
January 25, 201610 yr Hi, I was also 1/18 sleeve date. First follow up appointment tomorrow, should start purees! I was in more pain than I expected after surgery, but am doing better now. A week does make a big difference. Not getting 64oz/80-100 of protein yet but I keep trying.
January 27, 201610 yr Had mine 1/21. Have lots of questions. Already testing the waters probably more than I should.
January 27, 201610 yr I had mine on January 11,2016. Would be happy to be a buddy. First week was good, then I flew home, from Mexico and this last week was terrible. Very dizzy, lightheaded and weak. I'm trying hard to follow diet but I have started eating soft foods like eggs, tuna, and cottage cheese. I'm feeling better as of yesterday, and today is going well.

It went well, the surgeon was happy with weight lost so far, 10 lbs in a week. I am cleared for purees and taking it slow with them. They for sure feel much heavier in my stomach than the liquids do. I've been getting about 56 of fluids and 70 of protein. I made some egg salad pureed and cauliflower puree which has been good. Planning on making chili which sounds awesome right now!
January 28, 201610 yr I was sleeved on 1/18 as well! Really struggling with getting my fluids and protein.
January 28, 201610 yr Author I havent had even one day where i was able to get in my water or protien. But im trying! Its so crazy how I went from feeling bad abotut how much I was eating to feeling bad about how much I am not eating!
