I just started this journey last week. Going to Dr's checking off the list of requirements. Anyone with Cigna could give me some insight of their experience would be truly appreciative.

  • It is NOT 25-30 days. It is 3 consecutive months totaling greater than 89 days from first appointment to last. Therefore it cannot be 25 days between appointments because that would not get you to 89

  • The thing about it is what does Cigna consider monthly. That would be 25 to 30 days... To meet the >89. Days your appointment would need to be every 30 days which is logistically impossible unless

  • With mine, they counted my first visit as 1st visit. And then I had to take at least 89 days to get in 3 more appts which were 25 to 30 days apart. My first visit was Jan 31. My last visit was Apri

I have Cigna as well. Just starting my journey. My PCP gave me a referral to the surgeon, so I meet with him next Tuesday. It will be interesting to see what all they will require before I start!

Chair1311 what are your requirements that you still haven't gotten your surgery date?[/quote

Just time. That's all. It's taken a while to get all the appointments out of the way. But now we have scheduled the surgery for February 23rd!

@chair1311...what part of Florida do you live? My surgery can not be scheduled until after my insurance approves. I know that can not happen until May. Right now I feel like I am keeping busy with doctors appointments. I have not even done my first months weigh in with the supervise weight loss so I know I have long road ahead.

@@MrsRoboto I've gotten my appts all squared away. I was stressed because I kept getting different information and my surgeons office didn't make any of my appts, it was all up to me. Anyway, thanks for your input about the spacing of yours; makes me even more confident that I'm on the right track.

This my first post. I figure it's time to jump in....

I have Cigna too. I am waiting on approval. Hopefully in just a couple days. My surgeon told me the last appointment must be great than 90 days from the first visit. That is most important.

I have some problems. My PCP refused to medically clear me because I wasn't "that overweight". BMI 40, arthritis in both knees, diabetes, high bp. I just went to another doctor and got the clearance. Nutritionist and psychologist were easy to get done. Now I wait....
